14. Public Hearing to Consider the Adoption of an Ordinance to Join the Virginia Municipal Investment Trust. To receive public comment on its intent to adopt an ordinance to allow the County of Albemarle to become a participating locality in the Virginia Municipal Investment Trust Fund (VA MINT).
15. Public Hearing for a Compensation Increase for Board of Supervisors Members. To receive public comment on a proposed ordinance to amend Albemarle County Code § 2-202 (Compensation of Board of Supervisors) to increase the annual compensation of the members of the Board of Supervisors by 2.0% from $20,805 to $21,221, and the additional annual stipend of the Chair of the Board from $1,891 to $1,929, and Vice-Chair stipend from $630 to $643, all effective July 1, 2026.
16. Public Hearing for a Compensation Increase for Planning Commission and Other Appointed Boards. To receive public comment on a proposed ordinance to amend Albemarle County Code § 2-401 to increase the annual compensation of the voting members of the Planning Commission, from $7,916 to $8,074; and to amend Albemarle County Code § 2-905 to increase the compensation of members of the Architectural Review Board, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Building Code Board of Appeals, the Board of Equalization, and the Fire Prevention Code Board of Appeals for each regular or special meeting attended from $88 to $90. These increases would take effect July 1, 2026.
17. 26-3(1) – Agricultural and Forestal Districts. Ordinance to amend County Code Chapter 3, Agricultural and Forestal Districts, Article II, Districts of Statewide Significance, Division 2, Districts, to withdraw part of a parcel from the Lanark Agricultural and Forestal District: AFD 2025-01 Lanark District Withdrawal. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 3-225, Lanark Agricultural and Forestal District, to add “(part)” to Tax Map 103 Parcel 2B to indicate part of the parcel has been withdrawn.
18. 26-3(2) – Agricultural and Forestal Districts. Ordinance to amend County Code Chapter 3, Agricultural and Forestal Districts, Article II, Districts of Statewide Significance, Division 2, Districts, to add lands to the Green Mountain and Chalk Mountain Agricultural and Forestal Districts:
a. AFD 2026-02 Green Mountain District Addition. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 3-217, Green Mountain Agricultural and Forestal District, to add Tax Map 120 Parcel 20 and Tax Map 128 Parcel 1. The district has a review period of 10 years and will next be reviewed in December 2035.
b. AFD 2026-03 Chalk Mountain District Addition. The proposed ordinance would amend Section 3-212, Chalk Mountain Agricultural and Forestal District, to add Tax Map 98 Parcel 4. The district has a review period of 10 years and will next be reviewed in December 2029.
19. ZTA202300006, WPTA202300003, STA202300003, OTA202400002 Riparian Buffer Protection Standards. To receive comments on a proposed ordinance to regulate vegetation management and land-use impacts adjacent to water bodies, including the following amendments to the Albemarle County Code: repealing: § 17-406 (Mitigation plan if development allowed in stream buffer; form and content); and, Article VI (Stream buffers); amending: § 7-503 (Exemptions), § 14-234 (Procedure to authorize private street and related matters), § 14-302 (Contents of preliminary plat), § 14-307 (Stream crossings), § 14-404 (Lot location to allow access from lot onto street or shared driveway), § 14-409 (Coordination and extension of streets), § 14-410 (Standards for all streets and alleys),§ 14-422 (Sidewalks and planting strips), § 17-103 (Applicability), § 17-205 (Definitions), § 17-401 (Land-disturbance permit application; form and content), § 17-500 (Erosion and sediment control plans; applicable technical criteria), § 17-501 (Applicability of other laws and regulations; time limits on applicability of approved de

Opportunities for the public to access and participate in this meeting are posted on the Albemarle County website on the Board of Supervisors home page and on the Albemarle County calendar. Participation will include the opportunity to comment on those matters for which comments from the public will be received.
During the time set aside for "Public Comment on: Matters Previously Considered or Currently Pending Before the Board (Other than Scheduled Public Hearings)", individuals are allowed three minutes to speak. Up to 10 persons may speak during each “From the Public” session. The 10 speakers are determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Each speaker may speak at only one “Matters from the Public” session at each meeting. The sign-up period closes when “Matters from the Public” begins. Electronic presentation materials may be displayed by a member of the public provided it is emailed to the Clerk at least 48 hours in advance of the Board meeting.
During Public Hearings, the Board will only acknowledge speakers addressing the item listed for Public Hearing. Speaker
Time keeping is conducted through a timer and a light system at the podium. The green light will go on when you begin speaking and this begins your allotted time; a yellow light indicates you have one minute to finish your comment; a red light indicates your time has expired. In order to give all speakers equal treatment and courtesy, the Board requests that speakers adhere to the following guidelines:
• When called to the speaker's podium, state your name and magisterial district
• Address comments directly to the Board as a whole
• Give written statements and other supporting material to the Clerk
• If you represent a group or organization, you may ask others present to raise their hands and be
recognized
• If you exceed your allotted time, you will be asked to end your comments
• If a speaker does not use all allocated time, the unused time may not be shared with another
speaker
• Back-and-forth debate is prohibited
• Do not speak from your seat or out of turn
